Glassworks Barcelona made the animated prologue for Dolittle, the 2020 fantasy adventure about a doctor who can talk to animals. Directed by Javier Verdugo and Adrian Garcia, the prologue introduces the film's world through illustration, combining 3D environments with 2D character animation.

Making Of
I storyboarded the prologue with Alexis Liddell, Guy Pérez and Adrian Garcia, and designed a few of the characters. I also worked on the shot layouts and the artwork for the CG assets.
The 3D backgrounds supported projected style frames or carried artwork made to match the existing illustrations. My work moved from story ideas and boards into shot layout and artwork for those CG assets. I also joined the compositing reviews to keep the sequence visually consistent.
Glassworks' behind-the-scenes video shows the work that went into the piece.
